Europe ↔ Asia Bridge
This is what makes my practice distinctive. I'm a Belgian national based in Belgium, Singapore, and Malaysia, with decades of deal-making across both continents. European companies expanding into APAC get someone who understands Asian business culture, payment ecosystems, and regulatory landscapes from the inside. Asian companies entering the EU get someone who speaks the language — literally (four of them) — and knows how European procurement, compliance, and enterprise sales actually work. Not theory. Lived experience on both sides of this corridor.
Bid Writing & EU Tenders
This is where I consistently deliver the highest ROI for clients. EU institutional tenders — European Commission framework contracts, DG DIGIT programmes, government procurement — require a specific craft: understanding evaluation criteria, structuring compliant proposals, translating technical capability into the language assessors actually score on. I've co-authored winning bids starting at €70M that grew to €240M over successive framework renewals, and routinely handle the full cycle from RFI analysis through proposal architecture to final submission. For commercial enterprise deals, the same discipline applies: articulating differentiated value in writing that closes.
Partner Ecosystems & Business Development
Organic growth is linear. Partner ecosystems compound. This is a thread that runs through my entire career: building the commercial architectures that take companies beyond what their own sales teams can reach. At EUnet and KPNQwest I built early internet partner networks across Europe. At Platform.sh I developed the agency and technology partner ecosystem around an open-source PaaS. At Enhansa I designed multi-party commercial frameworks for AI-driven marketplaces. The pattern is always the same — identify where value flows between parties, design the incentive structures, negotiate the agreements, and operationalise the channel. I've done this with ISPs, SaaS vendors, open-source communities, system integrators, and government contractors.
AI & Data Analytics
AI adoption is only as good as the data it sits on. I work at the intersection of both — designing data architectures that feed AI systems, and AI strategies grounded in what the data actually supports. From LLM integration, RAG pipelines, and AI governance through to data warehouse design, KPI frameworks, and predictive analytics. The physics PhD helps: I think natively in data, statistical models, and systems that need to work at scale.
Cloud, Platforms & Digital Ecosystems
Cloud migration strategy, PaaS evaluation, SaaS architecture, and multi-party platform design. From infrastructure decisions through to marketplace architecture, revenue model design, clearing and settlement logic, and API-driven partner integration. Deep roots in European open-source technology — including Drupal ecosystems and cloud-native open-source platforms — with a strong preference for sovereignty-respecting, vendor-independent solutions.
Semantic Web & Open Data
Advisory rooted in Tim Berners-Lee's original vision for the web: linked data, semantic interoperability, and true data portability across systems. Helping organisations move beyond data silos toward architectures where information is genuinely interoperable — preserving privacy and data sovereignty while enabling seamless exchange between partners, platforms, and jurisdictions.

My path started in fundamental physics research, moved through internet infrastructure in its earliest commercial days, and evolved into two decades of digital business strategy across three continents.
Science Foundation
PhD in Physics. Researcher at CERN (Geneva) and DESY (Hamburg) on large-scale particle physics experiments — international collaborations involving thousands of researchers, petabytes of data, and the statistical rigour that still shapes how I approach analytics and complex systems. At CERN I was also involved in pioneering early HTML and web technology — the environment where the World Wide Web was born — and in the earliest business development efforts to bring these technologies beyond the research community.
International Reach
Lived and worked across Belgium, France, Germany, the Netherlands, the UK, Singapore, and Malaysia. Delivered projects spanning Europe, the Americas, India, Israel, and Southeast Asia. Multilingual: English, French, German, Dutch.
Enterprise Track Record
Commercial and business development leadership across every stage of the internet era. Built partner networks for early European internet providers (EUnet, KPNQwest). Drove agency and technology ecosystem growth for Platform.sh, an open-source cloud platform. Designed multi-party commercial frameworks for AI-driven marketplaces at Enhansa. A career-long thread of European open-source technology — from Drupal to cloud-native platforms — combined with the commercial instincts to turn them into revenue.

ATLAS — AI-Powered Talent Matching
Built for the IT staffing division of a major global workforce multinational. ATLAS solves a specific, high-stakes problem: European Commission framework contracts demand structured CV submissions under extreme time pressure, with candidates sourced from CVs arriving in six languages and inconsistent formats. ATLAS uses multi-stage AI to ingest, parse, normalise, and match candidates to requirements — supporting both EU tender compliance and commercial placements. Every AI output has a human approval gate and full audit trail. GDPR and EU AI Act compliant by design.
Contract Compliance Engine
An EU-sovereign solution for contract lifecycle compliance, built on OpenProject — a German open-source project management platform, hosted exclusively in Europe. Combines AI-assisted analysis with classical programmatic logic to track obligations, milestones, deliverables, and penalty clauses across complex multi-party contracts. Designed for organisations that need auditable compliance workflows without surrendering data to non-European cloud providers.
Fortune Star
A culturally authentic Chinese astrology application that generates personalised lucky numbers using the traditional Four Pillars BaZi system. Serving multicultural audiences across Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, and China. Available in English, Chinese, Tagalog, Thai, and Vietnamese. Payments processed via Stripe and local Southeast Asian payment methods.
In Development
An AI-powered tender discovery and matching platform designed specifically for SMEs. Automatically identifies relevant public and institutional tenders across European markets, matches them against company capabilities, and assesses fit — helping smaller firms compete for contracts they would otherwise never find or have the resources to evaluate. 1. About Evrard Consulting
Evrard Consulting nv/sa is a Belgian limited company (naamloze vennootschap / société anonyme), registered under company number BE 0468.539.890, founded in 1998 and operated by Dr. Erik Evrard as its sole director. All consulting services and applications described on this website are provided by Dr. Erik Evrard personally. The company maintains operational presence in Belgium, Singapore, and Malaysia to serve its Asia-Pacific clientele.
2. Consulting Services
All consulting engagements are governed by individual service agreements or statements of work agreed upon in writing between Evrard Consulting nv/sa and the client prior to commencement. The scope, deliverables, timeline, and fees for each engagement are defined in such agreements. Evrard Consulting provides advisory and strategic services; implementation of recommendations remains the responsibility of the client unless explicitly agreed otherwise.
3. Applications & Digital Products
Evrard Consulting nv/sa develops and operates consumer and business applications ("Apps"). Use of any App is subject to the following:
- Apps are provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied.
- Apps that involve entertainment, astrological, or fortune-related content are for amusement and personal reference only. No outcomes, predictions, or generated content constitute financial, legal, or professional advice. No winnings or results are guaranteed.
- Users must be at least 18 years of age to use paid features of any App.
- Evrard Consulting reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any App at any time with reasonable notice.
4. Payments & Refunds
Payment processing for Apps and services is handled by third-party payment processors (including Stripe and regional payment providers). Evrard Consulting does not store credit card numbers or sensitive payment credentials. Digital credits and in-app purchases are non-refundable once consumed. Unused credits may be refunded within 14 days of purchase upon written request to erik@evrard.net.
5. Intellectual Property
All content, algorithms, designs, and source code on this website and in Apps operated by Evrard Consulting nv/sa are the intellectual property of Evrard Consulting unless otherwise attributed. Consulting deliverables become the property of the client upon full payment, unless otherwise specified in the service agreement. Evrard Consulting retains the right to use general knowledge, techniques, and methodologies developed during engagements.
6. Privacy & Data Protection
Evrard Consulting collects only the minimum data necessary to provide its services and operate its Apps. This may include:
- Contact information provided voluntarily (email, name).
- Birth date information entered by users of astrology-related Apps (used solely for the purpose of generating personalised content, not shared with third parties).
- Payment transaction records as required by law and payment processors.
- Standard web analytics data (anonymised).
Personal data is not sold to third parties. Data is processed in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Belgian Data Protection Act. For users in Singapore, Malaysia, and Asia-Pacific, processing also complies with the Singapore Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) and the Malaysian Personal Data Protection Act 2010 where applicable. Users may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their personal data by contacting erik@evrard.net.
7. Limitation of Liability
Evrard Consulting provides consulting services and applications in good faith and with professional diligence. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Evrard Consulting nv/sa's total liability for any claim arising from services or Apps shall not exceed the fees paid by the client or user for the specific service or transaction giving rise to the claim. Evrard Consulting shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
8. Governing Law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Kingdom of Belgium. Any disputes arising shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ghent, Belgium.
